Find Your Perfect Foundation

Whether you’ve got dry, oily or combination skin we’re here to help you find the perfect foundation that’s right for your skin type.

Avon Loves Beauty school - find the perfect foundation

Finding the perfect foundation can be tricky. There are many foundations with different formulas, so choosing the finish that’s right for your skin type doesn’t always prove to be easy. Luckily for you, we’ve put together a guide to help you find the best foundation for your skin type. So, whether you’ve got dry skin or you’re worrying about fine lines, we’ve got you covered.

Cream to powder foundation for oily skin

Oily skin

Oily skin can be frustrating, but luckily there are some products around to help ditch the shiny face. If you suffer from oily skin, choose a medium to full coverage foundation that has a matte finish. Our new Matte 3-in-1 Cream to Powder Foundation will give you a shine-free finish that lasts. The powder will absorb any excess oil throughout the day, so you won’t have to worry about any shine peeking through.

Dry Skin

A liquid foundation is the best choice for those with dry skin. Water or oil-based formulas won’t stick to dry patches and will help even out your skin tone. True Colour Flawless Liquid Foundation will leave your skin feeling moisturised as well as looking radiant. Tinted moisturisers are also good for dry skin, as they aim to hydrate in an instant.

Combination skin

If you have combination skin, then you’ve got more of a choice on whether you’d like a dewy or matte look. Find one that’s good for buildable coverage, otherwise you could end up with patchy looking skin. A matte foundation will help keep the T-zone oiliness at bay, and you can add a highlighter to add some glow to your cheeks.

Acne Skin - find the perfect foundation

Acne-prone skin

Firstly, if you suffer from acne-prone skin, ensure you are giving your foundation brush a regular clean to avoid any risk of breakouts. Then, you want to make sure you’re not wearing a foundation that’s clogging up pores and making the situation worse. Aim for a light mineral foundation or try a lightweight formula with blemish-busting technology to help you feel confident in your skin.

Mature skin

As we get older, our skin changes. Unfortunately, we can suffer from skin damage, laugh lines or dull skin. Luckily, there are a lot of foundations to help with these. You should look for a light foundation that won’t settle into lines and will help give you an even skin tone, and Anew Age-Transforming Foundation will do just that. If you’d rather use a powder than a liquid, then try Anew Swirl Compact Foundation instead, which sets as a weightless powder.

Having SPF in your foundation is also extremely important. So no matter which category you sit under, always try to wear an SPF, too! Not sure which skin type you have? Check out our blog post all about how to find your perfect skincare routine.

So there’s the lowdown on which foundation is best for you. I hope you’ve found this useful and can finally find your perfect foundation match. Here’s to looking flawless, every day.
